Today's update - 08/12/2019

Todays updates include the parish newsletter, Father Anton's column, diary dates and timetables for Advent penitential services and Christmas services.

Thank you to the people who have kindly volunteered to Church Clean.  Marvellous that it has halved the time for those groups!   We now only need one or two more for Group 2 who clean mainly on a Thursday, or Friday, after Mass every 6 weeks.  Please consider it and tell Sharon in the parish office 613023. The 2020 rota is now available in the porch.

Thank you also to all the helpers who organised the Parish Supper at Ashley.

Coming up, Christmas Carol Singing is taking place on:

  1. Monday 16th December at Royal Stoke University Hospital from 6pm.
  2. Thursday 19th December at the Gatehouse Pub, Clayton on from 7pm

Today's update - 24/11/2019

Todays updates include the parish newsletter, Father Anton's column, and diary dates. The Parish/PTA Winter Fayre and Ashley Social are on 30th November. Coming up, Christmas Carol Singing is taking place at the Gatehouse Pub, Clayton on Thursday 19th December from 7pm – 8.30 pm.

2020 begins with the annual Senior Citizens Party taking place on Sunday 5th January in our Church hall from 3pm – 5pm.

Thank you to all parishioners and members of the Over 55’s Friendship Club who took part in the shoebox appeal. 71 boxes were collected. In total with the school’s boxes, 194 boxes!

Thanks to all who organised and supported the Harvest Supper evening. We raised £463.60 which will go to CAFOD. Thanks also to all those who helped set up the Day of Adoration and all those able to attend.

Help Our Lady & St Werburgh’s school win £20,000!

Aldi is giving 20 primary schools the chance to win £20,000. The school simply has to collect stickers from Aldi (1 sticker per £30 spent in store) in order to enter. If anyone in the Parish shops at Aldi, please ask for these stickers at the till, and hand them in at Church or at the School.

If nobody is willing then the present teams will have to clean every five weeks, instead of six!
We are SO grateful to those who help at the moment, some with little children, some who work, others who are elderly of with health problems.

Also the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child (SPUC) have launched a new petition against a new booklet called ‘Abortion and Abortion Care Factsheet’ which gives misleading and wrong information about abortion. Sign the SPUC’s petition form on SPUC’s campaign page on this.

They are also petitioning against the decriminalisation of abortion in Northern Ireland, England and Wales in the Draft Domestic Abuse Bill. See SPUC’s campaign page on this.

Bottle and Tombola stall after 10am Mass Today - 03/02/2019

For a bit of fun! Next weekend there will be a little bottle & tombola stall in the parish hall following the 10 a.m. Mass for the support of LinkLine. Please bring an extra pound or two and have a go. The prizes are very good for the money, a give-away bargain!! Oh and a few prizes for the children!
