Dedication Of The Lateran Basilica And Remembrance Sunday

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This weekend we celebrate the international recognition of the importance of the Lateran Basilica in Rome. It is also known as the Basilica of St John Lateran and serves as the Archbasilica of Rome. It is the only Archbasilica in the world. It serves as the seat of the Bishop of Rome, Pope Leo himself. It is the oldest basilica and was consecrated in the year 324. It therefore has great significance for the world of the past up to the present day. So, we pray for the seat of Rome, the role of the Pope, Bishop of Rome in the world today.
