Father Anton's Weekly Column

Fifth Sunday of Easter - Year A

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord,

We enter the month of May, the time of special remembrance of Mary the mother of God, the mother of Jesus. There is a brightness about May, sunshine as April blows itself out. The real shining star though is Mary herself. The church has always honoured her but never worshiped her for it is only God that we worship. Our devotion to Mary is re-directed to her Son Jesus. In fact, if you study the decades of the Rosary you will see how they ultimately focus on Jesus and his importance in the story.
